Dental Hygiene at Dental Palace

Dental hygiene plays a critical role in health preservation and disease prevention. Regular dental hygiene treatments at Dental Palace can prevent the development of numerous oral diseases. During treatments, we not only teach the correct techniques of brushing but also highlight the use of additional tools such as dental floss and interdental brushes to maintain clean teeth. When necessary, we use plaque disclosing tablets that highlight any remaining dental plaque, allowing for an assessment of brushing effectiveness and identifying areas needing more attention.

Ultrasonic Scaling

Food residues and proteins adhering to the teeth’s surface serve as an excellent breeding ground for oral bacteria, forming what is known as plaque or biofilm. The minerals in saliva can deposit within this plaque, creating hard, yellowish-brown tartar. Tartar and the bacteria it harbors can lead to gingivitis, which, if spread to the periodontium, results in periodontitis—potentially leading to tooth loosening or loss over the years.

Tartar removal is not achievable with simple brushing and requires professional intervention by a dentist or dental hygienist. Initially, we clean the teeth with an ultrasonic device, supplemented by manual tools. Discolorations and interdental spaces are cleansed using an air polisher, followed by a polish with a special paste. In severe cases, tartar under the gums is removed under local anesthesia.

Air Polishing (Sandblasting) Stains from food, nicotine, coffee, or tea can discolor the dental plaque. These are removed using a special air-polishing device, which sprays a mixture of salt and water onto the teeth, removing even stubborn stains without damaging the enamel. For further discolorations, we perform clinical or home teeth whitening.

Laser Pocket Treatment

For patients suffering from periodontal disease, we extend the lifespan of teeth through laser treatment, which vaporizes inflamed tissues and eliminates bacteria. This allows the teeth to reattach to the periodontium.

Fissure Sealants

Cleaning the molars in children is not always feasible, so shortly after the permanent teeth emerge, we apply fissure sealants to prevent tooth decay. This treatment involves sealing deep grooves and pits with a filling material, offering painless protection against decay.

Mucosal Lesions

Various mucosal lesions, such as aphthae or herpes, are treated using lasers. This method ensures quick and painless healing.

At Dental Palace, we emphasize the importance of comprehensive dental hygiene and innovative treatments to maintain and enhance oral health effectively.
